As the 2026 NFL season gets closer, one storyline that is continuing to be at the center of NFL conversations is the potential return of Aaron Donald to the Los Angeles Rams.
Recently, things have continued to progress as Donald completed a formal workout with the Rams on August 4. Although Donald has still yet to make a decision, Sean McVay has provided an encouraging update.
Most recently, McVay went on to say following Donald's workout, "He's feeling good, but we're not to where we are able to say whether or not he is or isn't ready to do it. But he's doing great, and he looked outstanding, as I think all of us would expect."

"[Donald is] feeling good, but we're not to where we are able to say whether or not he is or isn't ready to do it. But he's doing great and he looked outstanding [in Tuesday's workout], as I think all of us would expect."

The session was led by Rams defensive line coach and run-game coordinator Giff Smith, and it included individual defensive-line drills, sled work and Donald getting reps in with a helmet.
Nothing is official yet, but anything surrounding Donald has continued to be positive. It will be up to Donald to decide if he is physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to handle the demands of playing football again, but with him staying in shape as he has, it seems like that part won't be too hard to adjust back to.
For the Rams, they are continuing to get one step closer to pairing Donald up with newly acquired Myles Garrett and going all-in on a Super Bowl run this season.
