The Seattle Seahawks are looking to make it three wins in a row on Thursday night as they battle the Arizona Cardinals in a road matchup at State Farm Stadium.
After suffering a disappointing 17-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their season-opener, the Seahawks have bounced back and have stacked up two consecutive victories in the succeeding weeks. They have a lot of momentum on their side, too, after scoring a total of 75 points in back-to-back blowout wins against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints.
Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they were dealt a significant blow in the first quarter of the game. This came in the form of an injury to four-time Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who is now dealing with a thigh problem after chasing down Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray early in the game.
Lawrence exited the contest and was initially tagged as doubtful to return. The Cardinals then took to social media in the third quarter to announce that the 33-year-old is done for the evening.
“.@Seahawks injury update: LB DeMarcus Lawrence will not return,” Seahawks PR posted on X.

This is a considerable loss for Seattle as Lawrence exits after logging one solo tackle against Arizona. The former Dallas Cowboys star, who signed a three-year deal with the Seahawks in the offseason worth $32.5 million, has played more than 50% of Seattle’s defensive snaps in his first three games for his new team, registering 11 total tackles (four solo).
The Seahawks have not revealed the extent of Lawrence's injury. The veteran will likely undergo tests after the game, which should give the team more information on the issue at hand. At this point, Seahawks fans have no other choice but to hope that this isn’t a serious problem.
As of writing, Seattle is up, 17-6, with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter.
