Shedeur Sanders Open to Having Joe Flacco as a Mentor in Cleveland

Shedeur Sanders is essentially catching up to the group when it comes to the QB process and what is required at this level.

Thankfully for Shedeur and his fanbase, he is often paired with and sits in meetings next to Joe Flacco who is elite at those QB processes as a former Super Bowl MVP. What is completely logical is that once both Sanders and Gabriel are operating from a similar starting point operationally, Shedeur’s talent should take over. It's all part of the narrative being pushed right now.

But Sanders wants to learn all he can from Flacco. “I’d be dumb, I’d be a fool to not get insight from somebody that’s had success over all the years that he’s had,” Sanders said after practice ended on Tuesday. “I never feel, I would say, full. I would say I’m always hungry.”

However, there have been conflicting reports out of Browns camp. The issue with those reports that paint Shedeur as not being up to the challenge are off-base. As if we don't see the videos from practice being circulated on social media. Certain fan circles have been significantly worse when it comes to spinning up fake narratives. No rookie, especially one taken outside the top 50, wins a starting or backup spot in June.

Fans are choosing to believe that just because Shedeur has not been given the starting job already, there must be some sort of foolery happening. This is part of the post-draft slide PTSD angle and it's not reality. The Browns don’t hate him and it’s not that they aren’t giving him a chance. If anything, Shedeur Sanders is exactly where he needs to be at the end of mandatory minicamp to be in position to move up the depth chart in training camp.

We live in an urgent society. Everybody wants instant gratification. The problem with that is NFL Franchises have never operated that way and Cleveland in particular is not announcing a darn thing before they are required to. It's how they operate and Sanders fans will have to get used to that.
