Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders finally got his chance as the QB1. In Week 12, Sanders got the nod with Dillon Gabriel dealing with a concussion, and Sanders played well.
He went 11-of-20 for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on the road.
Sanders' 66-yard touchdown pass was the longest by a rookie this season, and he gave the offense a spark after going 4-of-16 with an interception and a fumble the week before, after Gabriel left the game against the Baltimore Ravens.
On Monday, Gabriel cleared concussion protocol, but head coach Kevin Stefanski made the decision to start Sanders in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Shortly after, Sanders took to Instagram with his regular message.
"Thank you GOD."
This time, it included a series of photos and videos from the win over the Raiders.
The first video was of Sanders before the game, and the last photo was of him looking at the crowd at Allegiant Stadium as he walked off the field postgame.
In his postgame interview with CBS Sports, Sanders couldn't help but be happy with the way things went.
“It’s amazing… after one week of practice,” Sanders said, via The New York Post. “This is one week of practice. So imagine what a full offseason looks like… it gets dangerous. I’m just truly thankful that everything happened.”
Sanders began the regular season as the QB3 behind Joe Flacco and Gabriel, but he was the QB2 after Flacco was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now, he will try and build momentum in Week 13 against the 49ers.
