Shilo Sanders, the brother of Shedeur Sanders, crossed the line with his criticism of Cleveland Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot.
Although the Browns have not yet named a starting quarterback for the 2026 season, Cabot believes Deshaun Watson has the inside track to be the Week 1 starter. She said the veteran quarterback received the majority of the first-team reps during voluntary minicamp.
Cabot then made the argument that Browns coach Todd Monken should commit to Watson from now. She thinks that would give Cleveland's offense the best chance to succeed in September.
"With my breaking news here that Deshaun Watson has taken the lead over Shedeur Sanders in the Browns QB competition and has the inside track to win it, I think they should declare him QB1 asap and let the 1st team offense start to cook," Cabot wrote on social media. "There's no time to waste."
Those remarks from Cabot didn't sit well with Shilo Sanders, who posted this response on Instagram: "Go make a sandwich Mary."
Unsurprisingly, countless NFL fans ripped Sanders for showing zero class.
"Sounds sexist and rude," one fan said.
"Funniest part about this is Mary Kay Cabot is at the top of her profession. One of, if not the most notable writer for a professional team in the most popular league in America. While Shilo Sanders can’t even make a practice squad," a second fan wrote.
"Mary has a job. Maybe Shilo should learn to make sandwiches," another fan replied.
During an appearance on 92.3 The Fan this Thursday morning, Cabot was asked to respond to Sanders' comment. She made it clear that she wasn't going to engage in a social media feud.
"I know there are so many women who have joined the football world especially because of some of the things I've been able to do over the years, and I'm happy about that," Cabot said. "I'm just happy that I've been able to help set the tone and open some doors in that way."
Hopefully, that classy statement from Cabot will settle down the drama in Cleveland.
