INGLEWOOD — The Arizona Cardinals’ second win of the season came at the exact same stadium where they earned their first — and where they currently have a better record than the two teams that actually call it home.
The Cardinals took on NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium, and despite a back-and-forth battle in which each team’s scores were answered by the other, the game ultimately came down to the final seconds. Arizona kicker Chad Ryland nailed a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give the Cardinals an 18-16 walk-off win.
Following the victory, many NFL analysts and fans took notice of an amusing statistic: Arizona’s second win at SoFi Stadium this season gives it more wins at the venue than the Rams and Los Angeles Chargers combined. The two teams that call SoFi Stadium home have combined for just one win there this season.
The Cardinals opened their season with a 26-14 win over the Chargers on Sept. 13 before returning to SoFi Stadium on Oct. 18 to defeat the Rams. While the stat is certainly something to laugh about, it also highlights a larger issue facing Arizona as it continues to search for consistency.

Despite getting both of its wins at the same stadium, the Cardinals have struggled to put together a complete performance week after week. Before Sunday’s win, the Cardinals suffered a four-game losing streak with losses both on the road and at home. While the latest result provides a much-needed boost, Arizona still has plenty of work to do to turn a couple of bright spots into sustained success.
For now, the Cardinals can enjoy the irony of having more wins at SoFi Stadium than the teams that play there every week. But Arizona’s bigger goal remains the same: stringing together wins and proving it can compete consistently, regardless of where the game is played.
