The Pittsburgh Steelers were happy with the seven players that they selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, and now those players have picked what jersey numbers they are going to wear.
Five of the seven players the Steelers drafted were on defense, which makes sense given the fact that the team takes pride on that side of the ball.
Defensive tackle Derrick Harmon will wear No. 99, edge Jack Sawyer will wear No. 33, DL Yahya Black will wear No. 78, linebacker Carson Bruener will wear No. 44, and corner Donte Kent will be wearing No. 34.
These guys will be looking to come in and make an impact on the defense of one of the most stories franchises in NFL history. The Steelers have had some of the best defense units ever, and the rookies will hope they can be the next generation of that.
As for the offensive rookies, running back Kaleb Johnson will wear No. 20, last worn by cornerback Cameron Sutton. The number that many were most excited to see was former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard, who will be wearing the same number he wore in college, No. 18.

The most notable field general to ever wear that number was Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, who many consider a top three quarterback ever. While Howard is far from that, he will be looking to live up to the legacy the number has.
The Steelers were able to make the playoffs in 2024, but they were eliminated by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round. Pittsburgh's 2025 draft class will be hoping they can carry the team to new heights and past the first round.
