Steelers Extend Mike Tomlin's Historic Streak

The Pittsburgh Steelers move to 9-7 on the season, marking 17 consecutive seasons where head coach Mike Tomlin has carried his team to a non-losing record. 

Tomlin only has two more coaches to surpass with consecutive winning seasons, training just Tom Landry with 21 (1965-1985) and Bill Belichick with 19 9 (2001-2019). The only difference? Tomlin is the only coach to start his streak without having any losing seasons. 

The Steelers haven't had a losing season since 2003, currently holding the longest streak in the NFL. The only team to have them beat are the Dallas Cowboys from 1965-1985, but with no change at coach in sight, Tomlin pushing his streak to 18 seasons would tie the Cowboys. 

Pittsburgh has finished 8-8 just four times in this span (2006, 2012, 2013 and 2018). 

Tomlin likely isn't looking for praise about his streak and rather trying to get the Steelers into the postseason. They'll need to defeat the Baltimore Ravens and have either the Jacksonville Jaguars or Buffalo Bills lose in Week 18 to do so.
