In what was a Week 1 preseason win for the Steelers, there was a lot to digest.
A big night from UDFA WRs, a should have been NFL record, and the start of success in Pittsburgh in 2025.
But more important than all of that, was the subject of health, with the Steelers getting off scot-free..
"And to top it all off, man, we kind of got through the game virtually injury-free," said Coach Tomlin in his postgame presser. "I think [cornerback] Cam McCutcheon got taken out with a soft tissue injury, maybe a hamstring that needs to be evaluated. But other than that, we're pretty clean and so productive night on a lot of fronts. And obviously we'll comb through the tape, man, and learn from it in a lot of ways, both players and coaches, and hopefully be better the next time out."
That was about the extent of Tomlin's presser, as for whatever reason, the small minority of Steelers media that made the trek to Jacksonville decided not to ask any questions, but that's neither here nor there.
What's important is that the Steelers, who are nursing injuries among starters Alex Highsmith, Calvin Austin III, Joey Porter Jr., and others, didn't rack up another. The preseason is only an exhibition after all, and the players (nor the media it seems) are in midseason form in terms of strength and conditioning.
Plus, it has to be remembered that this week of practice will be the biggest yet for the Steelers. Their final two days in Latrobe prelude a set of joint practices with the Buccaneers, which will be a welcomed test for the defense.
So in all, you can't complain about an injury-free win in the preseason.
