Steelers rookie WR George Pickens is already clutch

Steelers WR George Pickens has had a roller-coaster of a season, but the rookie has shown how clutch he is, especially lately.

The 21-year-old receiver always wants the ball in the biggest moments. He got his chance in Week 16 and delivered.

Pickens' play has backed up his words, and now he's found himself in elite company, sitting next to the names of Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson and Davante Adams as a deep-threat playmaker.

If Pickens is hanging with the top receivers in the league in a struggling Matt Canada-led offense, the sky is the limit if a change of coaching is made.

Pickens has also shown his impressive ability to make contested plays. Pro Football Focus says he's the best rookie since 2016 in the category with two games still to go.

He may still have a little bit of growing up to do, but there might not be a better coach than Mike Tomlin to take him under his wing.

Pickens' confidence paired with his ability to take the top off of a defense and make a tough catch when all else seems to fail checks off all of the boxes of what it truly means to be clutch. And the rookie is only going to get better, so defenses beware.
