Steelers vs. Chiefs Christmas Odds Predicted to Change With One Key Move

The Pittsburgh Steelers have quickly found themselves in increasingly desperate need of a win. After losses to the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens, their two-game lead in the AFC North has vanished.

In Week 16, the road will only grow more difficult. The Steelers will return home to face the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs, who have won five consecutive contests.

Beating Kansas City would put Pittsburgh back in the fast track to first place and a home playoff game. But for the third consecutive week, the Steelers will enter as underdogs.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Pittsburgh is a three-point underdog on Wednesday.

That doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Steelers will get to play in front of the Pittsburgh faithful, a meaningful boost down the home stretch.

Further, receiver George Pickens is on the verge of making his return. And if the Steelers want to make those odds change? Pickens is a smart prediction as the key move.

Pickens getting the green light would be meaningful for an offense that hasn’t generated much of a downfield passing game in his absence. The ability to make plays above the rim and in the red zone has its own obvious benefits, but the downstream effects on the ground game could be a key part of unlocking the offense that has been jogging in place.

Stopping Kansas City could prove to be a separate challenge. While quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t necessarily been at his best, the Chiefs are out to prove that winning games by one score doesn’t have to be unsustainable.

The addition of a healthy Hollywood Brown has rendered the offense more explosive, too.

There’s an argument to be made that they are rounding into form at the right time, but the books are expecting the Steelers to rebound and, at the very least, keep things close.

It’s hard to imagine a Mike Tomlin-led team not playing up to the occasion, especially given the standalone spotlight.

With a total of 43.5, Pittsburgh is expected to fall 23-20 on Christmas Day.
