Stefon Diggs and the New England Patriots kept their foot on the gas in Week 11. They took care of business against the New York Jets in their “Thursday Night Football” matchup, 27-14, en route to securing their eighth straight win. The Patriots improved to 9-2 on the season, which is currently tied with the Denver Broncos for the best record in the NFL.
Diggs was involved in an incident in Thursday’s game against the Jets. The All-Pro wide receiver was on the receiving end of a huge tackle from New York cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. The Jets were penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness, and the incident has now drawn a final decision from the NFL.
Diggs was a pivotal force for New England on Thursday, registering nine catches for a game-high 105 yards. He was not able to add to his scoring tally, but the four-time Pro Bowler played a key role to help lead his team to victory. In 11 games played this season, Diggs has recorded 59 catches for 659 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
Diggs, however, took a big hit in the second quarter after catching a Drake Maye pass for an 8-yard gain. Brownlee body slammed Diggs from behind, which was immediately flagged by the game official. The Jets CB was called for a personal foul for unnecessary roughness.

The NFL Officiating Department reviewed the play and has now made a final decision. The good news for Brownlee is that he will not be fined for his actions against Diggs. The league announced the fines from Week 10 on Saturday via the weekly gameday accountability update. Brownlee’s name was not on the list, meaning he has been spared of a potentially costly sanction.
For context, a total of 18 fines were issued from the previous week for unnecessary roughness. The penalties ranged from $4,704 for Adin Huntington of the Cleveland Browns (late hit) to $46,371 for Ale Kaho of the Washington Commanders (use of helmet).
It is worth noting that Brownlee was already fined earlier this season for a facemask violation in a game against the Tennessee Titans. The NFL issued a $5,808 fine for the Jets cornerback.
