Stefon Diggs sends a clear message to NFL teams

Stefon Diggs remains unsigned on the eve of training camp, and the veteran wide receiver thinks he is being undervalued.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel this week, Diggs reluctantly conceded that some No. 1 wide receivers might be better than him at this stage of his career. However, he firmly believes he is better than virtually any No. 2 option, and is probably cheaper than some of them.

“In my opinion, I can compete with anybody. But take those as your 1s, right? You can’t name a No. 2 better than me. There’s not a No. 2 on a team,” Diggs said. “Name your No. 2 wide receiver right now and tell me how much he makes. And my last question, is he better than me?”

Some wide receivers would certainly have an argument — Tee Higgins of the Bengals, for one — but Diggs has a point. He had 1,013 receiving yards for the New England Patriots and caught four touchdowns, so the 32-year-old can certainly still contribute in the right situation.

Diggs has not even drawn too much free agent interest, at least as far as we know. One team might be an increasingly plausible fit for him, though.
