Now is the time for NFL fans to start thinking beyond Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
Here are a few things you should know, starting with one critical detail: Super Bowl LXI will be on a major holiday next year. If you are set on watching the big game, you may want to consider how you will negotiate with your significant other ahead of time.
Super Bowl LXI will be played on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027. It is the same day as Valentine's Day, causing logistical concerns for couples, restaurants and traffic patterns everywhere.
The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET, the same start time that has been in place since the 1990s. Since the game will be on the West Coast, that means it will be a 3:30 p.m. local kickoff time, just like the Seahawks-Patriots game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara in 2026.
Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif in 2027. It will be the second Super Bowl hosted at the current home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers since the stadium opened in 2020.
The last Super Bowl hosted there was in 2022, when the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.
After Los Angeles serves as the host city for the Super Bowl in 2027, the NFL will take the championship game to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in 2028.
ABC and ESPN will broadcast Super Bowl LXI, the first time that the big game will ever appear on ESPN.
The Disney-owned channel is last in the rotation of the four major broadcast networks in the NFL's current 11-year TV broadcast rights deal, following the four preceding editions aired by CBS (2024), FOX (2025) and NBC (2026).
