Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, some teams are doing homework on Colts DT Adetomiwa Adebawore should Indianapolis decide to make him available.
After moving on from GM Chris Ballard and sitting at 2-5, the Colts traded expiring contracts such as G Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks and DT DeForest Buckner to the 49ers. Adebawore is also in the final year of his deal and has managed four sacks through the first seven games in just 36 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
Garafolo notes “everybody is being checked out” on the Colts now following the recent moves. Though he thinks Adebawore could still be in Indianapolis’ plans going forward, he’s another player teams could be interested in.
Colts WR Josh Downs and DT Grover Stewart are among the other names who have come up as options to be moved before the deadline.
Adebawore, 25, was a three-year starter at Northwestern and earned honorable mentions for All-Big Ten honors in 2021 and 2022.
The Colts drafted him in the fourth round with the No. 110 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $4,636,912 that includes a signing bonus of $796,912.
In 2026, Adebawore has appeared in seven games for the Colts and recorded 17 total tackles, three tackles for loss, four sacks and a pass defended.
We’ll have more on the Colts as the news becomes available.
