Teddy Bridgewater suffers apparent knee injury in loss to Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers are praying that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater didn't suffer a serious injury in Sunday's 46-23 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bridgewater was knocked out of the contest after a low hit on a sack by Buccaneers edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul in the fourth quarter. He immediately went to the sideline to be checked out by the medical staff and never returned to the field.

ESPN's Adam Schefter notes that he suffered an apparent knee injury on the play.

Before exiting, Bridgewater completed 18-of-24 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. He also had three carries for 16 yards and one touchdown.

Former XFL standout P.J. Walker took over for Bridgewater.

The Panthers, who already are without star running back Christian McCaffrey, would be in some pretty big trouble if Bridgewater misses any amount of time. With Sunday's loss, they're now 3-7 on the season.
