Former Georgia Bulldogs star tight end Brock Bowers is from Northern California, but he still had a unique connection to the Tennessee Vols during his time in college.
Bowers' girlfriend, who is also from Northern California, attended Tennessee while he starred at Georgia.
The former Bulldogs tight end, who is entering his second season with the Las Vegas Raiders, appeared on Bussin' with the Boys this week, where he detailed the experience of having a girlfriend who attended college at one of Georgia's biggest rivals.
"We're still together now actually. We've been together for five or six years," said Bowers. "She's awesome. And she ended up going to Tennessee, actually, from California, which is funny.
"Oh yeah [she was pulling for Georgia against Tennessee], she had the 19 jersey on," added Bowers when asked if his girlfriend pulled for the Bulldogs to beat the Vols. "She was getting kind of yelled at by her friends."
"I was getting DMs like, 'Oh your girlfriend's out here with all the frats and stuff'. Tennessee fan are trying to get in your head and stuff. And she was getting the same things (from Tennessee fans)."
Georgia went 3-0 against the Volunteers during Bowers' time in Athens (the only two games Bowers lost in college were to Alabama in 2021 and 2023).
Bowers and his girlfriend probably had no idea what they were getting into when they left California to attend rival SEC schools, but it seems that they made it through the experience relatively unscathed.
