The Tennessee Titans have parted ways with defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday after reviewing an incident that took place at the team facility five days earlier.

In a brief statement, the organization confirmed that something occurred involving Elliott on Thursday, October 15, and that an internal review led directly to the decision to remove him from the roster.

The team added that it would offer no further details on the matter.

Elliott had already been listed as not practicing on Friday for personal reasons and was inactive for Tennessee’s Week 6 game at Indianapolis.

The Titans still secured their first victory of the 2026 season, rallying from a 13-point deficit to beat the Colts 26-20. The win gave first-year head coach Robert Saleh his initial success with the franchise.

Saleh had told reporters earlier that the staff would discuss the situation and choose the course of action that best served the team.

With the release announcement, that discussion appears to have concluded.

The 28-year-old Elliott arrived in Nashville this offseason on a two-year deal that could reach $8.5 million after spending the previous two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers under Saleh.

A third-round selection by the Cleveland Browns in 2020, he began his college career at Texas before transferring and starting for one season at Missouri.

Across six NFL seasons, he has appeared in 102 games with 65 starts, recording 159 tackles and five sacks.

With the Titans he played in the first five contests of the year, starting once, and finished with 11 total tackles.

The sudden end to his tenure comes as the Titans, now 1-5, prepare to host the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

Elliott’s absence leaves a gap on the interior of a defensive line that already features established contributors such as Jeffery Simmons.

Because the organization has declined to elaborate on the nature of the facility incident, the precise circumstances remain unknown.

What is clear is that the review process moved quickly from the events of October 15 to a full roster release less than a week later, closing Elliott’s brief chapter in Nashville before it could develop further.
