Tennessee Titans Terminate Contract of 23-Year-Old Lineman

The Tennessee Titans released 23-year-old offensive lineman Drew Moss from their practice squad this week, ending his second stint with the organization as they shuffled depth after a 23-10 Week 1 loss to the New York Jets, via the NFL transaction wire.

Moss, a 6-foot-3, 310-pound interior lineman out of Colorado State, was waived Tuesday to create a practice-squad spot for linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo, a former Army captain who has bounced around the league.

Born May 21, 2003, in Richardson, Texas, Moss went undrafted in 2025 after starting all 47 games he played across four college seasons at Lamar and Colorado State.

He earned second-team All-Mountain West honors as a senior in 2024, helping an offense that allowed just 10 sacks.

San Francisco signed him as an undrafted free agent; he made the 49ers’ initial 53-man roster and appeared in five games as a backup before being waived in late October 2025. Tennessee claimed him the next day.

Moss spent the rest of the 2025 season with the Titans but did not stick on the 53-man roster in 2026. He was among the cuts on Aug. 30, then signed to the practice squad the following day.

Two weeks into the regular season, the club opted for linebacker depth instead. Ciarlo, 25, appeared in one game for Buffalo last year after earlier stops with the Jets and Dolphins.

The decision comes as first-year head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi continue to reshape the roster around second-year quarterback Cam Ward.

Tennessee also added guard Garrett Dellinger back to the practice squad after waiving him last week to claim Atonio Mafi.

The offensive line remains a point of emphasis after the unit was asked to play with more physicality this offseason.

Moss now becomes a free agent and can sign with another team’s practice squad or active roster.

At 23 with starting-caliber college experience and five NFL games already on his résumé, he remains a developmental interior option who can play guard or center.

Whether another club values that versatility enough to give him a fresh look will determine the next chapter of a career that has already seen multiple roster turns in just over a year.

The Titans return to practice Wednesday as they prepare for a Week 2 home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
