Stop us if you've heard this before: The Chicago Bears are increasing season ticket prices. In an official letter sent to season ticket holders, Bears' President and CEO Kevin Warren wrote about confidence and building the core of personnel.

But it surely doesn't have anything to do with the Arlington Heights project and the Bears' apparent swing-and-miss on it.

Surrounding Circumstances

The Bears wrote to fans stating that ticket prices would increase by an average of eight percent in 2024. Warren said the price hike will help make the team better and sign better players.

Increased Bears season ticket prices are almost an annual tradition at this point. It's become normal for fans to pay more every year with mediocre results, but that shouldn't be par for the course anymore.

The Bears organization is involved in more than just football. Their acquisition of the Arlington Heights property and sudden shift away from that project has been publicly messy. The need for funding is there, and now it partially gets passed onto fans.

While a season ticket price increase was expected, it's still unfortunate. The organization needs to pay for its future home somehow and when it's finally built, maybe the Bears will be a contender.
