San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk hasn’t played an NFL snap since he tore his ACL and MCL shortly after signing a four-year, $120 million contract extension in 2024.

With the drama that has played out between Aiyuk and the 49ers since the injury, it seemed like Aiyuk may never play in the NFL again, let alone for San Franciso. But heading into Week 9, it looks like the 2023 second-team All-Pro selection is making a serious attempt at a return to the gridiron.

Aiyuk announced he’s hired new representation in heavy-hitting agent Drew Rosenhaus and is applying for reinstatement with the NFL with the goal of reporting to the 49ers this Friday. Notably, the NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov 10, so he could be among the names to monitor

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Before signing his since-voided contract extension, Aiyuk entered 2024 on the back of consecutive 1,000-receiving-yard seasons, catching 13 touchdowns between 2022 and 2023.
