The 2025 Broncos Refuse To Lose!

The Denver Broncos beat the Washington Commanders 27-26 in an entertaining Sunday Night Football game. In typical Broncos fashion, the game went right down to the wire, where Denver came up victorious. They have become the first NFL team ever to be 10-2 when trailing at some point in every game.

It’s Not Luck

I heard a lot of analysts this morning say that the Broncos continue to get lucky. They state that at some point, the team will hit a wall and start losing these games. It’s fair to say they will lose some clutch games down the stretch, but to say they are getting lucky is disrespectful.

Winning is a skill. The 2024 Kansas City Chiefs should have taught us that. Yes, their season ended in shame, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they made it there. That team won 15 games, and you knew that every feared them. Why?

It certainly helps being the back-to-back champs at that point, but also understanding there is no margin for error. The 2025 Broncos and the 2025 Chiefs have this in common: They cannot be blown out. If they can’t be blown out, that means they must be beaten in a tight game.

How has that gone for opponents? Let the records speak for themselves. If the 2024 Chiefs were not enough evidence, let’s go with a team that won it all! The 2015 Broncos were the definition of ugly wins.

Denver that season won games 17-15, 19-13, 16-10, 20-17, etc. They weren’t exactly a juggernaut in point differential. Did it matter, though? No.

This is the NFL. Winning by one and winning by 21 result in the same thing. I think the discourse on the Broncos needs to change because people have just sneezed on their 10-2 record.

Denver has started 10-2 four previous times. Each time, they have found themselves in the big game in February. Let that marinate in your head for a bit.

This Season Makes No Sense

The 2025 season also makes no sense. It has been upsets galore from the get-go. I feel like what the Broncos and New England Patriots are doing should be applauded because of that.

Neither team has had a slip-up in over two months. Have they come close? Certainly, but at the end of the day, they still win their games.

I didn’t hear a peep about the Los Angeles Rams losing to the Carolina Panthers. The Rams were heavy favorites for the game, and they lost 31-28. Somehow, it is better to lose this type of game than to squeak out a game against an inferior opponent.

Another example is the Buffalo Bills losing to the hapless Miami Dolphins a few weeks ago. The Broncos, somehow, caught more flak for beating the Las Vegas Raiders 10-7 than the Bills did losing to a bad team. Beating Vegas by three isn’t a great achievement by any means, but at least they won the game.

It’s been a season full of upsets, and for the Broncos and Patriots to not slip up after week three is impressive. It feels like the Patriots get their respect, but Denver doesn’t. Bo Nix is easily one of the most scrutinized quarterbacks in the league.

Is Nix perfect? Of course not! He is, however, a quarterback in his second year, fighting off the sophomore slump and leading his team to a top two seed in the AFC.

Yes, Drake Maye has been objectively better, but that doesn’t mean Nix is a slouch.

End Of My 2025 Denver Broncos Rant

It’s very frustrating to me how the Broncos are being covered compared to teams like the Rams. Had you not looked up their record, you’d think they’re 6-6 or 5-7. Winning 10 games is not easy ever.

Winning by double figures is nice, but it doesn’t equate to being successful when it matters. A prime example is the 2012-2014 Broncos. I talked about how 2015 was clutch and won the Super Bowl.

Well, if you look at the 2012-2014 teams, they were prettier to watch. They scored more points, and the point differentials were large. What did that get them in the end? Two divisional round exits and a Super Bowl blowout loss.

I’m telling you there is something to winning close games all year. It can’t be measured with stats. The results show in late January and February.
