The 2026 Organized Team Activities

Starting May 18 and running through June 11, with off-and-on practices, the 2026 Organized Team Activities or OTAs will occur.

Granted, there is not much to be surmised from these practices, as the players do not wear pads and there are no contact drills.

That said, this season’s OTA period is critical given the new regime. General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Head Coach Jeff Hafley.

Sullivan and Hafley have clear goals for these off-season practices, as they have an opportunity to evaluate their roster and begin establishing a team identity.

This year will be different from many of the ones we have experienced as fans over the past several years.

Hafley wants to establish a whole new identity, distinct from the country-club atmosphere of the McDaniel days.

From what Hafley has said, his vision is a hard-nosed, physical, grind-it-out philosophy that demands full commitment and effort from his players.

Hafley has also not hesitated to say that if a player does not show complete effort, he is positioned to move on and replace him.

The OTAs that typically mean very little will mark the start of a new era for Dolphins football and begin to shape our 2026 team.

The South Florida media will be able to view some portions of these practices and cover them moment by moment, as they have in the past.

And we, as fans, will look forward to this level of detail.

But the real story will unfold behind the scenes as Hafley shapes his expectations into reality and begins choosing which players meet the challenge.
