The 'NFL's active passing-leaders' quiz

For the first time in his nine year NFL career, Sam Darnold will begin a Super Bowl defense when the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots to open the 2026 NFL regular season.

The Seahawks rushing attack will look different with Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet unavailable for the first four weeks of the season, but Darnold will still have star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba at his disposal.

The pair linked up 119 times for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, good for Seattle single-season records in both yards and receptions while tying Tyler Lockett’s 2020 campaign for the most touchdowns in one year. On the whole, Darnold put together his second-consecutive 4,000-yard, 14-win season before throwing for 672 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions en route to the Lombardi Trophy. Despite their success against the Patriots in February, Darnold said he expects a tough contest to open the season.

“It’s a great opportunity for us. This is a really good football team coming in from New England. We’ve got our work cut out for us,” Darnold said.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. After seeming destined for a journeyman role in the NFL following disastrous stints in New York and Carolina and a year as a backup in San Francisco, Darnold has established himself as one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the NFL. With that being said, can you name the NFL’s active leaders in passing yards?

Good luck!
