The Buffalo Bills have made some significant additions to their roster through free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. But a recent report revealed that they attempted to make a big splash via trade.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Bills and Green Bay Packers engaged in trade talks this offseason that would have potentially landed Buffalo Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander.
Those trade talks didn't result in a deal getting done. A significant hurdle thre being Alexander's contract and the Packers' willingness to take on any of it to facilitate a trade. If the Bills are still interested in Alexander, things got a little less complicated with the news of the Packers releasing the two-time Pro Bowler.

Alexander will now be free to sign wherever he pleases as he hits free agency. And while the Bills would be able to hold on to all of their draft picks, the biggest hurdle still remains. Alexander had no guaranteed money left on his contract, and therefore, he didn't get any of his projected salary as part of his release. So if Alexander wasn't willing to take a pay cut to facilitate a trade this offseason, it seems safe to assume he won't be interested in doing so in negotiations to sign with a contender like the Bills. I would guess that the Bills will get priced out of his market, and he will end up signing somewhere other than Buffalo.
