The Dallas Cowboys were linked to Deion Sanders and other top coaching candidates this offseason, but they chose to look within to address their head coach opening, hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as Mike McCarthy's replacement.
The Cowboys are still in the process of building out Schottenheimer's staff, and they made three more hires on Wednesday to bolster their coaching roster.
According to ESPN's Todd Archer, the Cowboys are hiring Andre Curtis as their defensive passing game coordinator, Dave Borgonzi as their linebackers coach and Aaron Whitecotton as their defensive line coach.
Brian Schottenheimer continuing to fill out his staff:

Defensive passing game coordinator Andre Curtis, who interviewed for the DC opening.
LBs coach Dave Borgonzi, a former Cowboys assistant w/ long ties to Matt Eberflus.
DL coach Aaron Whitecotton, who had been w/ the Jets.
Curtis interviewed for the team's defensive coordinator position, but the team elected to hire former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus.
Borgonzi worked with Eberflus in both Indianapolis and Chicago, and he also previously worked for the Cowboys as an assistant from 2011 through 2013.
Whitecotton joins the Cowboys as a defensive line coach after spending the last four years with the New York Jets in the same role.
The Cowboys are now seeking to finalize their offensive coordinator after elevating Schottenheimer to the head coaching job. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has stated that he'd like Schottenheimer to call plays, effectively putting the OC-to-be in charge of preparation and game planning during the week.
It's more of a hands-off role than the offensive coordinator role with other teams, but the Cowboys operated in a very similar manner with McCarthy during his tenure as head coach.
He called plays for his entire tenure with the Green Bay Packers and assumed that responsibility with Dallas following Kellen Moore's departure after the 2022 season.
The Cowboys will look to bounce back after missing the playoff this year, as they try to return to their NFC East-winning form from 2023. This season was unfortunately defined by injury for Dallas, as they lost key players like Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs and Dak Prescott throughout the year.
With a healthy roster and a new coaching staff in 2025, we'll see if the Cowboys can return to the postseason, or if they'll struggle to adjust under their new head coach in Schottenheimer.
