While the Carolina Panthers had experienced their ups and downs through their first six games, the much-maligned franchise was finally getting some national attention for positive play.
Then they welcomed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into Bank of America stadium in Week 7 and made sure the visitors felt right at home, heading into the halftime locker room down 33-6 and eventually losing 43-13 despite Baker Mayfield throwing just 11 times for 64 yards.
Fortunately, the Panthers have an opportunity to quickly flush that dreadful performance with a short week and a national audience on ‘Thursday Night Football,’ in Green Bay. While plenty of things went wrong for Carolina last week, there may be some extra scrutiny on quarterback Bryce Young.
Young is having his best start to a season by far, but went 14-for-27 with 163 yards, one passing-TD and two picks. He was also sacked five times, losing one of them for a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. If his numbers look similar against the Packers in primetime, things may start to get noisy in Charlotte.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. If Young can combine the statistical production he brought to the first third of the season to the clutch gene that has put him near the top of active quarterbacks in game-winning drives through 3+ seasons, the Panthers may have their guy. With that being said, can you name the active NFL quarterbacks with the most game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime?
Good luck!
