The NFL's scouting combine is set to begin on Thursday, and several players will be evaluated before teams make their final decisions for the draft in April.
The Kansas City Chiefs took Patrick Mahomes with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, putting their faith in the former Texas Tech quarterback despite a less-than-impressive athletic performance at the combine.
Mahomes ran the 40-yard dash in 4.80 seconds, but he's shown that 40 times aren't everything by becoming the best quarterback in the league.
The NFL Network has displayed this point by overlaying Mahomes' performance in the 40 over some of the top times from other positions, but everyone isn't a fan of how often they've done it - including the quarterback himself.
"As the combine starts this week! All i ask is that NFL Network doesn't use my 40 overlay anymore," Mahomes said before the 2024 combine.

The network had some fun with Mahomes by comparing his 40-yard dash to one run by a player who turned out to be a teammate. The only problem? The teammate is wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who set the record for the fastest 40 time ever at last year's combine.
"There he goes....and there goes Mahomes off the screen," Rich Eisen said after showing the video of the two players running the 40.
Sorry @PatrickMahomes, we just had to bring this back

Worthy's speed was one of the reasons the Chiefs traded up to select him at the end of the first round last year. The former Texas Longhorn ended his rookie campaign with 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season.
The Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles this year, but Worthy was one of the few bright spots for Kansas City in the game. He caught eight passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns in the 40-22 loss earlier this month.
Worthy appears to be a massive piece of the future for the Chiefs after his excellent rookie season, and Mahomes remains the league's preeminent quarterback. We'll see if Kansas City can bounce back in 2025 - and if this is the last time the NFL Network brings up Mahomes' time in the 40-yard dash.
