On Monday, former No. 1 overall pick Alex Smith announced that he was calling it a career after 16 seasons in the NFL. Smith famously returned last year from a devastating leg injury that required 17 surgeries and left him, at one point, feeling 'lucky to be alive'. Several teams reportedly had an interest in signing the 36-year-old QB this offseason, including the Jaguars. That move would have led to an interesting reunion between Smith and his former college coach Urban Meyer. Instead though, Smith has decided to walk away from the league on his own terms, something that seemed unfathomable just two years back.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. In today's pass-happy NFL, throwing for 4,000 yards in a season may seem like an easy feat to achieve. Peyton Manning did it 14 times. Drew Brees and Tom Brady? 12 and 11 times, respectively. But there are 33 NFL QBs, including Smith, who only reached the 4,000 yard plateau once. So with that in mind, how many of the 33 can you name in five minutes?
