One of the offseason storylines that has surrounded the San Francisco 49ers was their injury issues already, and one player involved was Christian McCaffrey.
At first glance considering McCaffrey’s injury history and him missing two weeks of training camp it could’ve been seen as serious. Yet, that might nit have actually been the case.
While it was originally brought up that McCaffrey was missing time due to tightness, McCaffrey has since gone on to say that it was “part of the plan from the jump.”

With McCaffrey returning it gives the 49ers’ coaching staff enough time to get him ramped back up ahead of their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10 in Melbourne, Australia.
While this being planned comes off as strange, McCaffrey returned to the field and started practicing, so for now, the thought can be supported that this was to help preserve McCaffrey’s health ahead of the season in hopes to avoid injuries during it.
