There Are Two NFL Playoff Games This Saturday - Here's The Divisional Round Schedule

The NFL playoffs didn't start off with any instant classics, but Saturday's slate of games should be thrilling.

At 4:30 p.m. ET, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium. These two teams faced each other on Dec. 21. The Chiefs won that meeting thanks to a clean performance from Patrick Mahomes. He had 260 passing yards, 33 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Kareem Hunt also played a big role in that game, rushing for 55 yards and a score on just 11 carries. While they'll be favored this afternoon, the Texans should be able to start fast since they're coming off an impressive win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

A win over the Texans would send the Chiefs to the AFC Championship for a seventh straight time. That's one of those crazy stats that shouldn't be true, but it is.

In the second game on the schedule for this Saturday, the Detroit Lions will take on the Washington Commanders. There's so much hype surrounding Detroit this postseason, and rightfully so. Dan Campbell's squad earned the No. 1 seed in large part because of its high-flying offense. Fans should expect Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs to put up big numbers tonight. However, a win over the Commanders can't be guaranteed. With the way rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is playing right now, it wouldn't shock us if this goes down to the wire.

The only thing fans can be certain of is a wild atmosphere at Ford Field. Earlier this week, Campbell told reporters, "You can be in loud environments — ours will be the loudest they’ve been in all year."

Here's the information for this Saturday's games:

  • Texans vs. Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC
  • Commanders vs. Lions at 8 p.m. ET on FOX

Oddsmakers like the Chiefs and Lions to advance to championship Sunday.

The divisional round of the playoffs will resume on Sunday with the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles at 3 p.m. ET. That game is expected to be impacted by the weather in Philly. As of now, there's snow in the forecast. A few hours later, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens will square off for a spot in the AFC Championship.

It should be a great weekend for NFL fans.
