Last season the Dallas Cowboys had a top-five passing offense thanks to a pair of 1,000-yard wide receivers in George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb. But with the NFL Draft just hours away, could the Cowboys be trying to add a third elite receiver to their ranks?
Longtime Cowboys insider Todd Archer certainly thinks they are.
Appearing on Shan & RJ on Thursday, Archer said that the Cowboys seem to have expressed significant interest in Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. He pointed out that the Cowboys attended a recent workout of Tyson's in-person after seemingly failing to get an official pre-draft visit in.

Archer believes (not reporting) Dallas tried to schedule an in person visit with Tyson, but he was too booked—hence why they went to his workout. He has fans.

Jordyn Tyson has enjoyed a first-round draft grade fora little over a year now. As a junior at Arizona State in 2024 he had 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns as he helped the Sun Devils win the Big 12 Championship.
Tyson continued to thrive in 2025 but missed several games due to injuries. But he still finished the season with a respectable 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games.
Though he didn't do the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, he reportedly clocked a time of 4.49 seconds (give or take .04-.06 seconds) at his Pro Day.
Whether or not Tyson is the pick for Dallas though, there is reason to believe that the Cowboys might use an early draft pick on a wide receiver. That reason is the team's standoff with George Pickens.
Despite leading the team in receiving this past year, Pickens is not under contract with the Cowboys beyond the 2026 season and there don't seem to be any real efforts being made to extend him as training camp approaches.
The strategy for the Cowboys in 2026 might be to have Pickens, Lamb and a rookie serve as their top-three receivers and have that rookie ultimately replace Pickens as the No. 2 receiver in 2027.
Do you think the Cowboys will draft a wide receiver tonight?
