Three Bold Titans' Position Battle Predictions

Oluwafemi Oladejo enters his second season with the Titans with an opportunity to become a full-time starter at edge. He brings a strong pass-rushing skill set and appears to fit well in Saleh's defensive system, thanks to his aggressive style off the snap and his ability to set the edge against opposing quarterbacks.

However, an underwhelming 2025 season leaves the door open for competition, especially with Keldrick Faulk, who is also competing for a larger role. With Faulk's underwhelming pass-rushing skill set, it seems Oladejo will be the starter come Week 1.

Nicholas Singleton Surges as Titans' Backup Running Back

The Titans have built a deep and talented running back room, but the addition of Nicholas Singleton on day three of the 2026 NFL Draft could completely reshape the depth chart heading into the season.

Singleton was excellent during his final college season, finishing with a PFF grade of 77.6. The biggest trait he brings to the Titans is his ability to find the end zone, something the team has lacked in recent seasons. Despite sharing the backfield with Kaytron Allen, Singleton was reliable enough to finish the year with 13 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to make an impact even in a split-back system.

The Titans are expected to enter the season with Tony Pollard as their starting running back for the third consecutive year, leaving Tyjae Spears as the primary competition behind him. However, Spears has struggled to stay fully healthy since his early college days, which could open the door for Singleton to quickly establish himself as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart.

Mitchell Trubisky Bypasses Will Levis for QB2

Will Levis is set to compete with Mitchell Trubisky for the Titans' backup quarterback job, but the team may be better served turning to the veteran with more proven experience. Trubisky has been a high-level starter in the past and brings valuable leadership as a mentor for young quarterback Cam Ward.

Choosing Levis, who has yet to fully establish himself at the NFL level, would provide a similar level of uncertainty, as would turning to Hendon Hooker, who is expected to begin the 2026 season on the Titans' practice squad.

With limited space on the sideline and only so many resources available, the Titans will maximize their development of Ward by having a veteran alongside him throughout the season.
