The Kansas City Chiefs did well addressing their needs in the NFL draft. They addressed the biggest need, the offensive line, by snagging Josh Simmons in the first round, as well as continued to draft players who are better than when they were selected in the draft may suggest.
Brashard Smith and Omarr Norman-Lott could be very productive for the Chiefs and be some of the biggest steals of the draft. The Chiefs were one of the most active teams in free agency, bolstering their offensive line by signing Jaylon Moore and helping out their defense with players like Kristian Fulton and Jerry Tillery.
There are still some players left in free agency that the Chiefs would benefit from adding to their roster. The Chiefs should be looking to dominate in the NFL next year, and these players would improve their roster significantly.
The two-time Super Bowl winner Von Miller has yet to reach an agreement with an NFL team after he spent the last three years with the Buffalo Bills. There'd be so many storylines if he were to join the Chiefs next season.
He'd be rejoining the AFC West after being a part of the Denver Broncos for the majority of his career, and he'd be joining the bitter rival of the Bills. Additionally, Miller would have the opportunity to be the second player in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three times with three different teams.
Miller would add another veteran presence to their defensive front, and while his days of insane production may be over, he'd still be a force to be reckoned with paired up with Chris Jones. Another Bill the Chiefs should target in free agency is Amari Cooper.
The Chiefs' wide receiver room is pretty much set in stone, but by adding Cooper, they'd add a veteran receiver as a backup. This is a good move in case an injury occurs and one of their young players isn't performing the way they'd hope.
They could sign him to a cheap one-year deal just to boost their chances of being dominant once again next year. The final player they should target in free agency is Justin Simmons, another former divisional rival.
The Chiefs allowed Justin Reid to walk in free agency, and Simmons would provide them with a player who could emulate his play style. He may not be as dominant as he once was, but he still has the skills to disrupt any pass play headed his way, something the Chiefs would greatly appreciate and would only serve to strengthen their defense.
