What an entertaining game between the Tennessee Titans and the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals came in a two touchdown favorite and somehow this game ended up in overtime. There is a lot we could talk about but here are three instant reactions.
The Bengals continue to start slow and play with fire. Last week they were facing a 13 to zero deficit at halftime and this week they dealt with a 13 to nothing hole. They might be able to get away with that vs a back up QB and one of the worst teams in the league, but eventually it is going to kill them.
The greatest equalizer in football is the turnover and the Bengals gave the ball away plenty. Joe Burrow had an uncharacteristic three interception game and Chase Brown added another fumble to the mix. While they were barely able to overcome it this week, it is a TERRIBLE habit to build.
Man oh man are the injuries starting to add up. The Bengals secondary is already thin and arguably one of the best corners in the game in DJ Turner left with an ankle injury. A long term injury to Turner would cause some serious panic. The bright side has been the pass rush and the depth we have and now that is being tested as well. Both defensive ends Cedric Johnson and Cashius Howell were quickly ruled out with injuries as well. The Bengals spent a lot to fix this unit and the injuries are starting to ruin those investments.
