Three must-watch Steelers in Week 12

The Steelers (6-4) are looking to bounce back against the Bengals (5-5) after suffering an embarrassing loss to the Browns a week ago. Here are three must-watch players for Pittsburgh in Week 12.

Kenny Pickett, quarterback

The Steelers finally fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who was blamed for most of the offense's woes over the past two and a half years, on Tuesday. However, that means the success of the offense now falls on the shoulders of Pickett.

The second-year quarterback has had struggles of his own, throwing for just 4,126 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his career, and there are no more excuses for him. The offense won't become a juggernaut overnight but Pickett must play better or force Pittsburgh to consider other options after the season. Cincinnati proves the perfect opportunity to do just that as it has allowed the sixth most passing yards per game (247.8).

Jaylen Warren, running back

Warren has been a true difference-maker in recent weeks. The second-year running back has rushed for 318 yards and two touchdowns in the last three games, which includes a 74-yard touchdown against the Browns' stout defense in Week 11.

The former undrafted rookie in 2022 is set up to have another big day on the ground against the Bengals as they are allowing the second most rushing yards per game (138.3). RB Najee Harris will still get his fair share of touches but Warren has proven to be much more dynamic as of late.

Joey Porter Jr., cornerback

Porter Jr., the No. 32 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has quickly established himself as a lockdown corner for the Steelers. He has allowed one reception per 21.6 coverage snaps this season, the second best among cornerbacks this season, according to Pro Football Focus.

The rookie cornerback isn't afraid to go face-to-face against opposing teams' best players either. He asked to shadow All-Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins in Week 9, and he certainly backed up his words by holding him to just one catch for 17 yards. Porter Jr. will likely see a lot of WR Ja'Marr Chase on Sunday in what will be one of the must-watch matchups of the weekend.
