Three 'next-level' players for 2025 Eagles

Are the Eagles overconfident after winning last year's Super Bowl, or do they know something we don't? Philadelphia let some pretty good players walk out the door, so who will step up in 2025?

DT Moro Ojomo

Defensive tackle Milton Williams appeared in all but one game since joining the Eagles as a third-round pick in 2021, but cashed in with a four-tackle, two-sack performance in Super Bowl LIX.

By signing a four-year, $104M contract with the Patriots in the offseason, Williams left a big hole on the defensive line, one that Philadelphia hopes Ojomo can fill.

A seventh-round pick in 2023, Ojomo struggled to get on the field as a rookie, making three tackles in just eight games played. Last year, Ojomo appeared in all 17 games while his snap count jumped from 68 to 388. This year, he’s seen the bulk of reps during OTA practices and was named a top player in the 2025 NFL All-Breakout Team by Pro Football Focus.

At 6-foot-3 and 292 pounds, the 23-year-old is a bit on the small side for a defensive tackle but nearly identical in size to his predecessor. Assuming Ojomo can fill his shoes and take the next step, Philadelphia’s defensive line should continue to thrive in 2025.

S Andrew Mukuba

C.J. Gardner-Johnson spent two of the past three seasons as a starting safety with the Eagles, leading the team with six interceptions each time. Now that he’s been traded to the Texans, someone needs to take over at free safety.

Mukuba tied Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron, a first-round pick of the Broncos in this year’s draft, with a team-high five interceptions in 2024, but was taken in the second round (64th overall) by Philadelphia.

PFF rated Mukuba as the second-best safety in this year’s draft after the 22-year-old ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.

At 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds, Mukuba doesn’t have great size but is known for his physical style of play. Assuming he outplays third-year safeties Sydney Brown and Tristin McCollum in training camp, Mukuba could be the next-level safety the team needs.

CB Kelee Ringo

In five years with Philadelphia, Darius Slay started 73 of a possible 74 games, earning three Pro Bowl nominations along the way. Now that the 34-year-old cornerback is with Pittsburgh, the right cornerback job is Ringo’s to lose after joining the team as a fourth-round pick in 2023.

While used mostly on special teams, the 22-year-old cornerback has played in just 14 percent of the team's defensive snaps over the past two seasons. What Ringo lacks in experience, he certainly makes up for in size.

At 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds, he’s two inches taller and 14 pounds heavier than second-year cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and has three inches and 22 pounds on free-agent addition Adoree’ Jackson.

Coming out of college in 2023, Ringo earned praise for being physical in coverage and run support but was criticized for what many saw as a lack of patience and consistency in two years at Georgia. The Eagles thought enough of him to make him their fourth-round pick; now, they need to make him a starter.
