LAS VEGAS—It may be only preseason, but this one is still going to hurt all the same.

On Saturday, the Las Vegas Raiders fell to the San Francisco 49ers 22-19 at Allegiant Stadium by way of a 59-yard Jake Moody field goal.

The Raiders fall to 0-1-1 in the preseason, while the 49ers head to 1-1.

Here are three takeaways from a game that featured many highs and lows for the Raiders.

Jeanty hits paydirt

All the concerns about running back Ashton Jeanty after the Seahawks game have just evaporated.

Jeanty broke off explosive plays, taking serious hits and staying tough throughout his time in the game. By the time the starters were done, Jeanty had seven carries for 33 yards and his first NFL touchdown. This was the Jeanty that was advertised for the Raiders, and the hype around him is sure to pick right back up after a week-long lull.

Aerial assault

The Raiders reportedly struggled against the passing game of the 49ers, and that trend continued during the game.

None of the three San Francisco quarterbacks in Brock Purdy, Mac Jones or Carter Bradley finished with less than eight yards per attempt. The likes of Ricky Pearsall (three receptions for 42 yards), Demarcus Robinson (three receptions for 44 yards) and Robbie Chosen (five receptions for 92 yards) gashed the Raiders for big gains on multiple occasions. The run defense was good, save for a 19-yard run by Corey Kiner, but the secondary is going to need some work.

Last drive disaster

With 27 seconds remaining, the Raiders had the chance to get themselves into position for a game-winning field goal.

Unfortunately, the Raiders hit the worst-case scenario on the drive. Sacks from Chase Lucas and Demone Harris pushed the Raiders back, before Cam Miller’s final pass was picked off by Jaylen Mahoney. Moody than walked it off for the Niners to finish what was a disastrous final drive for the Silver and Black.
