The Cleveland Browns are moving forward without David Njoku. The tight end's time in Cleveland is over after years of being one of the more consistent weapons on the offense.
Fans figured he'd finish his career in a Browns uniform, but that's not happening. He is leaving as one of the better tight ends in franchise history, and his exit leaves a real hole. Harold Fannin Jr. had a strong rookie season in 2025 and led the team in receptions, so he can handle the top tight end role.
But GM Andrew Berry still needs to add another piece if new HC Todd Monken wants to maximize what the offense can do. The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is now underway in Indianapolis, and three tight end prospects could work well alongside Fannin. All three might be available when the Browns pick.
Klare is 6-foot-5 and 243 pounds. He's an in-state product who causes problems for defenses. He wins down the field and got open consistently at Ohio State. His first step is quick, and he reads zone coverage well enough to find the openings. His routes are cleaner than most college tight ends.
He does his best work from the slot but can line up outside when needed. The issue is his blocking. He struggles to hold up in-line against stronger defensive ends, which limits how often he can stay on the field in certain packages.
Bentley is 6-foot-4 and 264 pounds with a long reach. He took longer to develop, but could be a weapon near the goal line. He's a willing blocker and plays with some nastiness, which works in the AFC North. His hands are reliable, and he brings some force when he's asked to block.
He's built like an in-line tight end but uses his size more to box out defenders than move them. Most of his production came against zone coverage. His routes need work, and he doesn't move great side to side. Faster linebackers in man coverage give him trouble.
Roush is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds. He fits if the Browns want a traditional blocking tight end to pair with Fannin. He plays with good instincts and already blocks like someone who's been in the league a few years. The effort is consistent.
He's physical in the run game and has dependable hands. Roush handles his assignments in zone runs and can work combo blocks in gap schemes. He's fine in pass protection. As a pass-catcher, he's not going to create much separation. He won't beat anyone deep, so he's more of a safety valve than a playmaker.
