Tim Tebow's return to the NFL as a tight end came as a surprise. His boosted merchandise sales on the NFL Shop website, on the other hand, do not.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the top five apparel items for sale on the NFL Shop website are all Tebow related, which comes one day after he officially signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tebow agreed to a one-year, $920,000 deal. He isn't even guaranteed a roster spot, which makes the rise in Tebow merchandise sales more bizarre.
Tebow hasn't played in the NFL since 2015 and hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2012. During his previous stint, when he played quarterback, he wore No. 15. As a tight end, he'll wear No. 85.
