The Tennesee Titans acquired Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons in a blockbuster trade on Sunday.
All of their recruiting certainly paid off, and Titans general manager Jon Robinson can't wait to see the All-Pro wide receiver take the field in blue.
"Excited to add Julio to the football team. He's excited to be part of what we've got going on in Nashville. It's a big day for our team," Robinson told reporters on Sunday.
Robinson added that talks between the two teams picked up on Saturday and said that once Jones was made available, he and Mike Vrabel began to assess his potential fit with the franchise.
"He's big, he's fast, he's tough, he's great with the ball in his hands, a willing blocker. I think a lot of things that we ask of our receivers ... get open, catch and block -- he certainly checks those boxes and has done it at a high level in the National Football League," he said.
Players on the Titans heavily recruited Jones throughout the process, including A.J. Brown, who made a TikTok video explaining why Jones should play for the franchise. Taylor Lewan and Derrick Henry also previously tweeted their support for Tennessee to trade for the Alabama product.
Tennessee lost two of its top pass catchers this offseason as Corey Davis signed with the New York Jets and Jonnu Smith signed with the New England Patriots.
So, it was important the team look for a replacement for those two guys. They got more than that in Jones.
