The Tennessee Titans aren't waiting until the offseason to revamp their coaching staff. On Monday afternoon, the franchise fired head coach Brian Callahan.

Callahan finished his tenure in Tennessee with a 4-19 overall record. The Titans were hopeful he'd have success with No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward at quarterback. That hasn't been the case though. In six games this season, the Titans scored only 83 points. According to ESPN Research, that's the franchise's lowest mark through six games since 1985.

“After extended conversations with our owner and general manager, we met with Brian Callahan this morning to tell him we are making a change at head coach. These decisions are never easy, and they become more difficult when they involve people of great character. We are grateful for Brian’s investment in the Titans and Tennessee community during his tenure as head coach. We thank him and his family for being exemplary ambassadors of the Tennessee Titans,” said Chad Brinker, the team's president of football operations.

“While we are committed to a patient and strategic plan to build a sustainable, winning football program, we have not demonstrated sufficient growth. Our players, fans, and community deserve a football team that achieves a standard we are not currently meeting, and we are committed to making the hard decisions necessary to reach and maintain that standard.”

Titans lose veteran coach.

According to Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky , the team has lost offensive line coach Bill Callahan. To be fair, it would've been odd to see him still on the staff after the front office fired his son.

"Bill Callahan, the veteran offensive line coach who left the Browns to join his son's staff in Nashville in 2024, is leaving the team after it fired his son, head coach Brian Callahan," Kuharsky wrote.

Senior offensive assistant Mike McCoy will be the interim coach for the Titans moving forward. He was the head coach of the Chargers from 2013-2016, owning a 27-37 record.

The Titans will take on the New England Patriots in Week 7.
