Tennessee Titans training camp is rapidly approaching, with a starting date of July 22. At this point, usually, all rookies would be signed, but this year, things are different, especially when it comes to second-round draft picks.
30 of the 32 second-round draft picks remain unsigned as training camps begin this week, with one notable exception. Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre Harris is already holding out as the team's training camp has begun, and he is not in attendance.
Caught up in the unsigned second-round picks dilemma is Titans linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo, who the team drafted No. 52 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. He and the Titans have not agreed to terms as of yet.
The issue is that the two second-round draft picks who have signed — Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins and Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger — both have fully guaranteed deals.
Higgins and Schwesinger were the first two picks in the second round and set a precedent that other teams have not been willing to match. So when those deals happened, every other player in the second round was angling for that guaranteed contract as well.
At this point, it's now a line drawn in the sand between second-round picks and owners, and there is no telling who is going to break. Not every second-round pick will get a guaranteed deal, but when it comes to Oladejo and his contract, things could get interesting.
He was drafted 52nd overall. While he may be looking to secure a guaranteed deal, the likelihood of him getting one is low, given his draft position, which is many spots behind them in the second round. However, he could get more guaranteed money than he originally would have when he and the Titans agree to a deal.
