The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a very banged up team. However, they continue to find ways to win, as they did on Sunday in a 30-19 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Unfortunately, the Bucs saw two more starters go down with injury. Rookie WR Emeka Egbuka, who's been unquestionably the catalyst in the passing game this season, suffered a hamstring injury that ended his day prematurely. Right guard Luke Haggard also left the game with a shoulder injury.
According to Todd Bowles, it sounds like at least Haggard, as well as WR Chris Godwin and RB Bucky Irving, will be out for the Bucs' game next Monday against the Detroit Lions.
"Emeka is going to get an MRI tomorrow, so we'll find out more then," Bowles said Monday during his press conference. "We will hope to see Mike (Evans) and Zyon (McCollum) or (Benjamin) Morrison do something this week and we'll see how much they do to determine if they can play or what they can do.
"Chris is not in play to practice, so I'm sure he probably won't be back." When asked if Bucky in the same situation, Bowles replied with, "yes".
"I don't know how long he'll be out, I just know he'll be doubtful for this week," Bowles added about Haggard.
So, for those keeping score at home, the Bucs will hope to get Evans, McCollum, and Morrison back on the practice field, which will be starting on Thursday since the game is on Monday night, and will be without Godwin, Irving, and Haggard for the game. While Bowles didn't offer up a time frame on Egbuka, NFL insider Ian Rapoport believes that Egbuka will miss "some time" with his hamstring injury.
We'll see how things trend for the Bucs' banged up players when the initial practice reports are released later this week.
