Tom Brady wrapped up his first season as a broadcaster at Super Bowl 59 on Sunday night.
Brady made his FOX NFL debut this season, starting off alongside Kevin Burkhardt covering the Dallas Cowboys against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. While Brady earned mixed reviews, particularly early on, he seemed to settle in as the year progressed. By the time the postseason arrived, the legendary quarterback was much more comfortable in the booth.
With Brady serving as a minority owner with heavy influence for the Las Vegas Raiders, some have wondered if he's not long for broadcasting. Brady, who has nine years left on his lucrative 10-year contract with FOX, has insisted that isn't the case.
On Wednesday morning, Brady said farewell to the 2024 NFL season in a heartfelt Instagram post--and confirmed at the end he'll be back on the mic in 2025, for anyone who was wondering.
"The 2024 @nfl season is in the books It certainly was a new challenge to undertake but I couldn’t have asked for a better team to be a part of and learn from!" Brady said. "To all of my @nflonfox teammates, producers, crew, and colleagues—you made this experience so special, and I’m grateful for the energy, dedication and perseverance you brought every week while always delivering the best broadcast for the fans who we serve week in and week out.
"It’s always been about the TEAM and I’m lucky to be part of this great one @foxsports. Wait…How long until Week 1???? LFG!! #ontothenextone."
It's possible Brady could change his mind--after all, this is the man who unretired from the NFL in 2022--but the seven-time Super Bowl champion has consistently said he's committed to FOX long-term.
"It's been an awesome journey these last 18 months and I know I got another at least 9 years to go and hopefully more," Brady told Sports Illustrated's Jimmy Traina earlier this month.
For now though, Brady has almost seven months until he has to call another game, so he can fully dive into his work as a Raiders owner and decision maker.
It's a big offseason for the Silver and Black, and Brady is expected to be very involved, particularly in the organization's search for its next quarterback.
