Tom Brady comments on concussions in the NFL following Tua Tagovailoa incident

It appears that every quarterback in the NFL is speaking up on the issue of concussions this week after what happened to Tua Tagovailoa, and that includes Tom Brady.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller took time on his "Let's Go" podcast this week to address the topic of concussions in professional football, saying physical contact is a risk of playing the sport — but that players have to work on prevention as well.

"My view has always been an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," the 45-year-old said. "To do your best to really try to be proactive with your health and to make sure that when you do get injured you can recover as quickly as possible and get your body in the best position possible to give it the best nutrients as possible to deal with whatever trauma you come into contact with."

Tagovailoa has been ruled out for the Dolphins' Week 5 matchup against the New York Jets. The QB appeared to sustain a head injury in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills but was then cleared to play the following week, only to be carted off the field after sustaining yet another head injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. The NFL and NFLPA are currently investigating how Tagovailoa's injury was handled.

Brady's comments that concussions, unfortunately, come with the territory mirror comments Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow made this week. With two high-profile QBs shining light on the ongoing unsafe nature of playing the game, it won't be surprising if this investigation becomes messy.

In the meantime, Brady is nursing his own injury. The unretired veteran is reportedly dealing with a rotator cuff issue in his throwing shoulder, although there isn't any word yet as to whether that will keep him out of next Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Brady is also dealing with a lot of watching eyes off the field due to continued reports that he and supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen are headed for a divorce.
