Tom Brady could reach jaw-dropping milestone this week against Rams

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady could set a never-reached NFL milestone this Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Los Angeles Rams.

As Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports points out, Brady is only 164 passing yards away from 100,000 for his career (including playoffs). Brady will be the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to reach the mark, whether it happens in Week 9 or later.

"If Brady reaches the 100,000-yard mark, he will have thrown for 56.82 miles in his career," Kerr wrote. "That's over a span of 24 years with seven Super Bowl titles and never having a season worse than 9-7."

After a 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday, head coach Todd Bowles said Brady "could have made some better throws." The 45-year-old completed just 59 percent of his passes, going 26-of-44 for 325 yards and a touchdown.

While Brady ranks second in the NFL in passing yards (2,267), he's just 14th in passer rating (92.4) and 17th in total QBR (49.1).

Brady has posted a 65.9 completion percentage in eight starts this season, throwing 2,267 passing yards with nine touchdowns and one interception.

The Buccaneers are just 3-5 heading into this week's contest with the Rams. However, the NFC South is still salvageable, as the Bucs are within striking distance of the first-place Atlanta Falcons (4-4).
