Tom Brady Didn't Hesitate When Naming Best Team In The NFL

The NFL's regular season is headed into Week 18, the final leg for playoff-hopeful teams to punch their ticket to the postseason.

Heading into the final week of the regular season, as teams begin to prepare for a postseason run, Fox Sports analyst Tom Beady reviewed the top five teams in the NFL.

Brady gave immense credit to teams like the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions, but only one team can stand on the pedestal.

On Thursday, Brady announced the Kansas City Chiefs as the No. 1 team in the NFL.

He discussed the team's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, explaining Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs appear to be a dominant force on both ends of the field.

"The No. 1 team in my power rankings goes to the Chiefs," Brady said. "Patrick threw for 320 yards, a great all-around effort, three touchdowns. That was a really good Steelers defense on Christmas Day. And Spag's defense, they haven't allowed over 20 points in any of the last five games."

Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 29-10 win over the Steelers on Christmas. In the win over the AFC foe, Mahomes had one of his best showings of the season, posting three touchdowns and 320 yards, completing 29-of-39 pass attempts.

The two-time MVP led the offense to 389 total yards, 20 first-down conversions and 6.7 yards per play.

As Brady mentioned, the Chiefs' defense has also been phenomenal. They forced two turnovers on the Steelers in Week 17 and have only allowed four teams all season to eclipse the 20-point mark.

The Chiefs currently stand at 15-1 on the season, riding a six-game win streak. Their lone loss this season came against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 17.

After clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC, Kansas City will play its final regular-season game on Jan. 5 at 4:25 p.m. ET against the Denver Broncos.
