Tom Brady officially retired from the NFL earlier this week and, intentionally or not, sparked some controversy when he publicly thanked members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a lengthy statement but omitted any mention of the New England Patriots, his NFL home for two decades and where he won six of seven career Super Bowl rings.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft later honored Brady in a heartfelt message but allegedly threw a "temper tantrum" after the quarterback's supposed snub. Brady has since mentioned the Patriots numerous times on his Instagram story, and he did so again via a video he shared on social media late Thursday morning.
I played for the name on the front of my jersey and the name on the back of my jersey. I played for my friends, my family & our community - every single one of you - that have given me what I have today.

I love you all. Thank you ALL for making this incredible journey possible pic.twitter.com/3jmNWid9ZB
Despite conflicting reports and rumors, there is currently no plan for Brady to sign a one-day contract with the Patriots so he can officially retire as a member of that organization. Don't sweat it, New England fans, as nobody can take your memories away.
