Tom Brady has outdueled the likes of Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees and Kurt Warner among many others. But there's one quarterback that he will have to go the rest of his life without ever beating: Jake Balanovich of Cypress Bay High School.
On Saturday, YouTube content creator MrBeast released a video that featured a slew of top athletes facing off in skill contests against amateur challengers with millions of dollars on the line. For the first competition of the video, Brady - who has appeared in videos with MrBeast before - squared off in a throwing contest against a Balanovich. The seven-time Super Bowl champion and the Florida high schooler competed to see who could be the first to pop four balloons from distances of 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards.
MrBeast quickly gave Brady a slight handicap by making his balloons significantly smaller than the ones for Balanovich.
Both quarterbacks easily hit their balloons from 20 yards out, but after Balanovich hit his from 30 yards, Brady shocked the people present by missing his 30-yard ball. However, Balanovich struggled with his next two throws, allowing Brady to take a 3-2 lead. Balanovich managed to tie it up, giving Brady a chance to win it.
As Balanovich's friends all chanted that Brady was old, Brady missed the 50-yard throw while Balanovich's 50-yard pass hit the ground - only for the ball to bounce up and hit the balloon to give him the win.
It's not exactly losing a Super Bowl and it was all in good fun with some charity money on the line. Soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo lost a penalty kick competition while MLB slugger Bryce Harper lost a home run competition.
But not everyone was as content to lose. Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles beat a man in a 200m run despite giving his opponent a 60-meter head start, while golf star Bryson DeChambeau beat an opponent in a golf competition where his foe had a hole that was several feet wide.
For Brady, the loss probably doesn't mean a whole lot. But for Balanovich, he'll have bragging rights for the rest of his life.
